$150!

YaY!! Won ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY SINGAPORE DOLLARS! Lemme briefly tell u e story... Yesterday (28th Jun), Aaron, Yuan Kang and me was a team to participate in Marine Quiz held in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. There're 3 teams representing JSS. There're 3 rounds: Preliminary round, Semi-final round and Final. Out of the total of about 16 schools (exact number unsure), amazingly all 3 of JSS teams went through to e semi-final round with the other 3 teams from Victoria (2 teams) and Sembawang (1 team) where there was 6 teams altogether. The scene when all 3 of our teams were being called out was really, hmm, funny.. Cos all of us never expected that! Hahaha... Then, after e semi-final round, our team and the other team from our school (suat kee, hui wen and yi shan) successfully went through to the final with Victoria. After 3 rounds in e final (compulsory category, open category and speed category), Victoria clinched the champion with a trophy and $200 each.. Our team got the second (not bad lah) and got a trophy and $150 each. While the other team from our school got third, with a trophy and $100 each.

We're happy to see that all e 3 teams from our school got something back to school, or else teachers may just nag at us... LolX. The other team (Kie Kean, Sze Min and Amira) though elimnated in the semi-final, but still got a trophy for the school. Felt a sense of fulfilment as after reading hard all about Marine Industry, which is completely unfamiliar to us, we are able to do e school proud.. =) Hmm..most importantly, we got $$$! $_$ Muahahaz... Going to spend part of it with the rest to eat sushi (dunno where yet) tmr.. Yeah!!

World Cup fever

S'posed to attend last day of study camp today, but i didn't go and slept till 12 plus instead! Well, I heard tat many ppl also didn't attend and only a few 'hardworkers' went and found out tat e classroom doors were not even opened! LolZ... Well, i dun think we're really wrong in 'playing truant' as u may say, because e programme for e whole 4 hrs is: Self-study... Moreover, teachers were not even there and dun even care if we're really studying. So, what's e point right? And I decided that i deserved a good sleep after having to wake up early in the morning for e past days, haha.. Also, I watched e FIFA World Cup last nite until 4.50a.m.! How am I ABLE to wake up??!! Even if I attended e study camp, how am I ABLE to SELF-STUDY??!! That's mission impossible.

I watched e match between Japan and Brazil...The result is Japan 1 Brazil 4. Brazil Bravo [2 Bras, by yq..haha]! The whole match was very exciting and it was what kept me awake during e whole 2 hrs, after having a quick nap from 1.30a.m. to 2.50a.m. when I really need to sleep...

Now, 2 more days to e start of Term 3. Die, I haven't finish my homework, esp. English (cos of Ms Phua)! Dunno if I can finish all e homework tat i 'intended' to do on time or not... My first priority is to finish Engish and that's e least I MuSt finish. Still have Geog notes and other which I have forgotten... The homework I not planning to do is Chinese, OoOpS... But I believe e teacher won't collect ba.. (plz realise my wish~)

Leaders Commencement Day will be held on 19th July if I'm not wrong, yup, it has been postponed to 1 week later. Till then, 23rd SC has only about a month left being officially in office before 24the SC officially take over. The feeling of not being in Student Council officially and 'promoted' to e Old Bird Clan will be very weird ba.. But I think tat feeling won't last long, because we've our major 'O' level to worry about -_-"... Ms Tang expects 4 As from us, and I do hope I can achieve tat and even better.. (=

Eventually, each of us will have our different futures to work towards to and parting is therefore inevitable. Nonetheless, may we meet up with one another again in the years to come.

Science ctr

Ytd morning rained heavily and I had to run thru e rain to e bus stop in order to get to science ctr for my volunteering work~~ I was almost wet all over! And now, gosh, I'm feeling a bit headache, down with flu and running nose... Hate tis stupid feeling yea know! I was helping e staff there typing scripts for dem so tat they culd prepare for their show at IMM on 16-18 June and educated public abt digestive system... The room was damn freezy cold, and it was still pouring heavily outside, that I was simply trembling, as if I was in Arctic... Juz dun understand why e staff dun wanna raise up e air-con temperature... Anyway, I dun enjoy tis volunteering experience compared to last yr's... It was juz too boring, and I found dem inorganized too... haiz...shall not tok abt it anymore...

After my volunteering job which ended abt 5.15p.m., I went to Bugis Swensens with my CCA frens to have our dinner there... It was sort of 'reunion' dinner as they had called~ O_o" Anyway, e food was not bad lar... I ordered chicken rice with a layer of cheese above the food, which I had completey forgotten e name of e dish, and also a dessert: Banana Split! LolZ... These 2 dishes cost me $20! SehX... A big hole in my wallet... But okay lar, since it dun happen many times, and we're mugging for O lvl soon, no time to crap liao... After tat, we juz window shopping a while and went home... And after tat, I felt e dizziness and caught with flu xp... *speechless

Student Leaders Camp

I was really zonked after SLC.
No. of hours of sleep (Day 0 + Day 1 + Day 2 + Day 3)= abt 5 hrs
When I reached home at about 5.30 pm, I took my shower str8 away after unpacking all my stuff, and slept till e nxt day 11.25 a.m. I dreamt nothing... Well, maybe I was too exhausted tat my brain didn't actually create pictures~~~ When 'BREAKCAMP' was announced by the camp commandants, 23rd feelings were mixed. We were delighted that e camp was a success, on the other hand, it oso marked the end of 23rd SC.

We adopted an enitrely new approach in running e whole camp as times have changed. Thou we're given a short time replanning the whole time schedule on Day 0 nite, e result was positive. I dun think I'm gonna say out e whole camp in details, so I'll just summarize...

I had a sleepless night on Day 0, all bcos of e hard & uncomfortable tables, and waited longingly for Day 1. On Day 1, evryting went smoothly. The campfire was a breakthrough in SC camp! Some of the performances were impressive and some of the performers were extremely impressive! And we sang songs, which liven up the atmosphere~ Woo, tat's was veri nice :)

On Day 2, however, we met expected situations tat wuld hinder our plans, that is, it rained during Treasure Hunt. I&C and Sec 1 coord had planned tis activity and put in lotsa efforts, but in the end, we were forced to stop tis activity. And we evacuated all campers to e big shelter and danced Friendship Dance. Evryone enjoyed it though...

On Day 3, time passed veri fast. In the blink of an eye, 'BRAKCAMP' was announced. 23rd had mixed feelings: We were delighted tat SLC, our last project, was a success, on the other hand, 23rd SC will be stepping to the history of Student Council...

After breakcamp, Ms Tang had a short mtg wif 23rd SC. She said that SLC was a success and tat e teachers were delighted tat 23rd SC managed to adopt a new approach and still run e camp well. She expressed her sincere gratitude to us: Thank you, 23rd Student Council! as the last sentence of the short meeting. We were touched.

It made us think of the times when we were just recruited into Student Council when were in Sec 1, went through Induction Camp together held by WenJin & Chermin which was physically demanding, received out junior badge, went through NACLI, did our morning duties, attended Interactive Day Camp, went through SLC held by Eugene & Serene Lim, organized AGM, received our ties and tiepins together as a batch on stage on Investiture, went through 2nd Induction Camp held by Daron & Joanne, received our senior badges on stage, organized Interactive Day Camp, went through 2nd SLC held by Quan Rong & Charmaine, got to know our posts for 23rd SC, organized Leaders Commencement Day, organized Teachers' Day, organized Induction Camp '05, organized 4-day Orientation Programme, organized SLC and now going to step down soon~~~ There were, of course, many other projects that we organized too... And it was a fruitful journey for 23rd Student Council.

Ms Ong oso spoke to e boys when we were packing pur bags in our bunk. She joined SC not too long ago when she first oversee the Induciton Camp when 23rd SC held till now. She said that 23rd SC had left a deep impression and memories in them, and emphasized that it was not easy leaving a deep impression in someone. And 23rd SC had a proud history written in the history of JSS Student Council. Now, we're promoted to senior stage, a tertiary level. Our focus now wuld be on 'O' level and get good result, and den come back to SC to help out next time. I'm sure that 23rd SC had left a deep impression in Ms Ong.

To Sec 2 councillors, you had not disppointed us in SLC. In fact, many of u had surpassed wad u tot u culd do. You are a good batch, which we had tot so in Induction Camp, and teachers oso told us tat too. We hope that ur batch wuld be able to receive ur tie & tiepins as a batch, juz like 23rd SC. Some of ur batchmates didn't manage to come to SLC, so each and everyone of u need to help dem, and they nid to prove themselves tat they are worthy of the tie and tiepins, which is definitely a great challenge to Sec 2 batch. Continue to Shine with Confidence, Lead with Pride!

I'm proud to be in 23rd Student Council. 'Always Ready. Ever Willing.'

I'm proud to be the Secondary One Coordinator of 23rd Student Council. Sec 2s:'Shine with Confidence. Lead with Pride.'

Lead with Honour!

SLC coming

All right. It's a brand new skin! Hahz...

SLC is coming soon~~~ Feeling excited about it, but I'm quite sure the campers are even more excited about it, with a bit of nervous... For me, I am looking forward to it to see how e campers have 'grown' to become better leaders. I also hope that e campers will be able to impress me! =p Anyway, results will be shown on 5th June~~

After SLC, 23rd SC would have effectively 'stepped down'...And we'll find ourselves 'free' LOL.. Nonetheless, I'm sure 23rd would feel something seems to have 'disappeared' from them forever. But, we'll find something in return, that is: loads of homework in preparation for our 'O' level! -_-"

Yayaya, Sec 4 life is lyk tat one, as many ppl have said... So I'll just have to live with it, and live with e stress~ Aarrgghh..the stress finds me once more, nope, it is many times more! xp

For the upcoming SLC, 23rd SC: Always Ready, Ever Willing!
